Another Sunday and another match for Amstelveen2... This week we met Waterland3. As we had past experiences with Waterland, we made serious preparations for a tough match. Come KO time, we were faced with an incomplete team of respectable age. A lot of praise goes out to this Waterland3 team, who are really going into a match they cannot win, yet they kept a good spirit and worked until the last minute for their consolation try.
It was not to be. Amstelveen2 kept their defence solid and did not lose concentration for 80 minutes. In the beginning we were a bit 'all over the place' when everyone wanted to score and run through the Waterland defence... Which just does not work that way. After 15 minutes we realised we had to play basic rugby and go through the phases to get to the other side and score points.
Halfway through the match we had a good score... But the 2nd half we even improved our rugby and played phase play rugby. Ruck, maul, offloads and good stepping rugby made for a spectacle for our fans and 1st and 3rd team that came to watch the game.
Again we kept the zero points score against us....!! The Amstelveen2 saga continues.
